Doorways techs receive electricity and electronics training
Ongoing industry-related education is a big part of ensuring our employees have the knowledge they need to succeed at their job. Today, Roger Schmidt from ASSA ABLOY provided important foundational electricity and electronics classes to some of our personnel.
The morning session, “Basic Low Voltage Electricity for Installers,” gave our Shop Applied Hardware and Field Service technicians hands-on experience wiring electronic locking systems. All the basics from AC / DC electricity, series versus parallel wiring, testing of circuits and much more were covered.
In the afternoon, our Field Service technicians stayed around for another class, “Advanced Electronic System Wiring and Basic Troubleshooting.” When in the field, our door and hardware techs oftentimes encounter electronic hardware and this will help them when they do. Topics included fail safe / fail secure wiring, fire alarm interfaces, basic access control system troubleshooting and more.
Our state-of-the-art Training Room routinely hosts classes such as these for our personnel. These sessions ensure our employees are the best-trained, most knowledgeable in the industry and allow us to provide better service to our customers.
